I’ve been in the field of psychology for over 12 years, working with diverse clientele in a broad range of settings and regions of the United States. Raised in Minnesota, I received an undergraduate degree from Williams College in the Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts. Then I promptly did what any plucky and naïve graduate of a liberal arts school would do: parlayed my political science degree into work as a reporter for a San Francisco television station. It was only logical that this led me to graduate school in clinical psychology!
After getting a Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology (San Francisco campus) I continued training at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis before landing in Salt Lake City. Work in Utah has included psychotherapy, testing and assessment, and teaching at Westminster College as an adjunct professor. Specialty areas include anxiety, depression, loss, trauma, adjustment disorders, relationship/intimacy problems, sports psychology, yoga therapy, sleep disorders, substance abuse, and low self-esteem. Rather than subscribing to a formula, I blend Western and Eastern philosophies (plus a little humor when necessary!) and integrate mind and body to tailor treatment to your needs.
I am dedicated to promoting compassion, balance, empathy, authenticity and mindfulness. My ultimate message is for you to find your own way in this often chaotic world. When not spreading this message, I divide my time between the mountain trails and the yoga mat.
